Dobson, North Carolina
Dobson is set in the scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is the county seat of Surry County. It was established as the county seat in 1853, replacing Rockford after all land in Surry County south of the Yadkin River was used to form Yadkin County. The Edwards-Franklin House and Surry County Courthouse are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This small community is in the heart of North Carolina Wine Country and home to some of NC’s premier wineries. They encourage all residents and visitors alike to come and see our historic downtown, visit Dobson’s many shops & restaurants and enjoy hiking, fishing & outdoor activities in the Dobson area.
