| The Brown Mountain off-highway vehicle (OHV) area offers visitors the only area in Pisgah that is open to OHVs, including all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), 4 wheel drive vehicles, and trail bikes. This area offers 34 miles of rugged trails from March 16 until January 1. All 34 trails are open to trail bikes, while over 14 miles are open to ATVs. Most trails are not wide enough for two-way traffic, thus a one-way trail system is used. The trails numbers can only be seen when traveling in the correct direction. |
